# Getting to know the app editor

> A tour of the editor: the chat, Preview, Code, Data, Users and Domains tabs, and the actions in the header.

Open any project from **Projects** to enter the editor.

## Chat (left)

Your messages and Draftship's work, step by step: thinking time and tokens, files written, build checks, repairs and the final result. Click a file name to open it in the Code tab (paid plans). Type a change at the bottom and press **Enter**.

## Tabs (right)

| Tab | What it shows |
|---|---|
| **Preview** | Your private [draft](/docs/building/publishing), with desktop and mobile widths. [Comment and edit](/docs/building/comment-and-edit-on-the-preview) right on it. |
| **Code** | Every file in a code editor with syntax highlighting. Streams live while the AI writes. Paid plans. |
| **Data** | Your app's database tables and records. See [Managing your app data](/docs/data/managing-your-app-data). |
| **Users** | People who signed up to your app, with their roles. |
| **Domains** | Your app's address and custom domain settings. |

## Header

- **Status** — Queued, Generating, Building, Fixing, Live or Failed.
- **Public / Private** — whether the app is listed in Explore. Private projects need a paid plan.
- **GitHub** and **Deploy** — push the code to GitHub or deploy it to Vercel. See [GitHub and Vercel](/docs/developers/code/github-and-vercel).
- **Open** — the live app in a new tab. **Delete** removes the project and its files.

You can leave the editor at any time — jobs keep running in the background.
