# Connecting a custom domain

> Serve your app from a domain you own. Available on paid plans.

On Pro and Pro+ you can serve an app from your own domain, like `app.yourbrand.com`.

## Connect it

1. Open the project and select **Domains**.
2. Enter the domain and click **Connect**.
3. At your DNS provider, add the record shown:

| Type | Name | Value |
|---|---|---|
| CNAME | `app.yourbrand.com` | `cname.draftship.dev` |

If your provider adds your domain to the name automatically, enter only the part before it, such as `app`. If your DNS is on Cloudflare, set the record to **DNS only**.

4. Click **Check DNS**, or wait. Draftship checks every few minutes and shows **Connected** when your domain is ready. DNS changes can take up to an hour.

## Root domains

A root domain like `yourbrand.com` needs a CNAME record, because A records aren't supported. Some DNS providers, such as Cloudflare, allow a CNAME on the root. If yours doesn't, connect `www.yourbrand.com` or another subdomain instead.

## HTTPS

Draftship issues a certificate for your domain and renews it automatically. This usually takes a few minutes after your DNS record is correct. If your domain has CAA records, they must allow Cloudflare's certificate authorities.

## Removing

Click **Remove** to disconnect. The app stays available at its Draftship address.
