# Sending emails from your app

> Send transactional emails such as confirmations and notifications from your app.

Apps can send email with the SDK's `SendEmail` integration — booking confirmations, notifications to the owner, simple digests.

> "When someone books a class, email them a confirmation with the class name and time."

```ts
await ds.integrations.Core.SendEmail({
  to: "guest@example.com",
  subject: "Your booking is confirmed",
  body: "<p>See you on Monday at 9:00.</p>",
});
```

`body` accepts HTML. `from_name` sets the sender's display name.

## Who an app can email

- **From the browser:** The visitor must be signed in, and the email can only go to them or to you, the app's owner. Each user can send up to 10 per hour.
- **From a backend function:** The email can go to anyone. Use this for a public contact form or a message to another user.

Each app can send up to 500 emails per day.

## Availability

Email delivery must be enabled on the Draftship server you use. If it isn't, `SendEmail` fails with a message saying so, and the rest of your app keeps working.
